On the road again !

Une semaine après l'accouchement, je commencais à tourner en rond dans ma maison comme un lion en cage. Il était grand temps de chausser mes chaussures de rando pour aller faire un tour dehors. Nous avions décidé de faire facile pour cette première sortie avec bébé Liam, nous avions prévu d'aller faire un petit tour à Bowen Island mais nous avons raté le ferry de peu, du coup on est allé se promener au Lighthouse Park à la place. Cela nous a permis de prendre la jolie route côtière entre Horseshoe Bay et Vancouver. Le geek était fier comme Artaban de promener le mini-geek dans son sling et j'ai pu bien me dégourdir les jambes. La journée était magnifique et nous avons pu prendre le goûter sur les falaises.

Nous n'avons pas vu d'aigles cette fois-ci... et pas d'ours non-plus alors qu'il y en avait de signalé dans le coin:


Le petit loup semble apprécier les balades et en a profité pour roupiller peinard pendant que son papa marchait sur les sentiers !

Depuis, nous sommes allés à la plage sur Jericho, où j'ai pu mettre mes pieds dans l'eau à défaut de me baigner... Aujourd'hui nous allons tenter une balade à Grouse Mountain !


A week after delivering the baby, I was starting to feel restless in my house. It was about time to put my hiking boots back on and head out for a nice walk. We had chosen to go for a little hike on Bowen Island but we missed the ferry by a few minutes. Instead, we took Marine Drive back to the Lighthouse Park and walked the trails of the park a bit, pausing for a snack on the cliffs overlooking Howe Sound. The day was gorgeous and the walk invigorating. Liam loved being in the sling with dad and slept thoughout most of the hike. We did not spot any eagles nor bears, although bears have been seen in the vicinity...

Since then, I managed to head out to the beach and at the very least dip my toes in the warm ocean. I'll have to wait a bit longer before actually swimming... Today, we'll try going up to Grouse Mountain!
